Free Publications

Sometimes I ask myself is this blog worth the trouble, and 99% of the time the answer is always yes. I have no idea of the amount of visitors we receive. Judging by the comments and emails I get it is a few, but I would like to see more. It is great to see people are now sharing their views on Machins also ideas and details of collecting habits etc on the web.

Something for Nothing

An old saying is "they say that there is no such thing as a free lunch". Well I can inform you that this saying is now defunct. There is lots of interesting stuff out there if you look, this blog and many other Machin related websites do not run for profit they are here to serve the philatelic
interests of normal collectors.

I know I keep harping on about "stuff " that we can get for free on the web, but if you are willing to spend a bit of time its amazing what you come up with.

Please DO keep your comments coming and also the emails, without them we would not have a blog.

An email from Postal Heritage informs me " If you would like a free copy of the 2nd and 3rd postcards in this series they are available from the British Postal Museum & Archive Search Room. The 1st postcard is in very short supply and is no longer available, but we will be selling complete sets in the future."

Machin publications that were originally only available if you paid for them are also FREE if you visit the search room of Postal Heritage.

A Timeless Classic: The Evolution of Machin's Icon and Elizabeth: Queen & Icon are just two of the publications that you can download FREE in pdf form. There are many others too and tons of other information. A great website and a brilliant service. To cap it all a summary of information is also available in Welsh, German, Spanish and French.

LOG ON AND TAKE A LOOK AROUND Do not forget to add it to your favourites folder as you will want to visit over and over again.

The Royal Mail Archive is based at Freeling House, Phoenix Place, London WC1X 0DL. This is also the main office for The British Postal Museum & Archive. The British Postal Museum Store is located in Debden, Essex.
