Preston Mill Booklet Proofs

I spotted this little gem on eBay 3 x uncut proofs of a £1.20 booklet cover which was never issued (Preston Mill). It was eventually issued in 1981 (SGFM1) as a £1.40 booklet (top) containing 10 x 14p Machins (bottom)

A nice addition and talking point to compliment any booklet collection. It is up for sale at a modest £95.00. Apparently, from the description "this is a extremely rare piece originating from the late Len Newbury collection."

Preston Mill

An idyllic 18th-century water mill with a distinctive conical-roofed kiln and red pantiled buildings, Preston Mill today is extremely popular with artists and photographers.

The mill now belongs to the Scottish National trust, it remained in operation until 1959 and the water-wheel and machinery all still work. Now a major tourist attraction it receives thousands of visitors a year.
