Machin News & Competition - Results

Last week Adrian ran a small competition, I can now announce that the results are now in and Ade has the three names of the winner and runners up who will receive individual prizes.

I did not participate or even have a guess to what the answer was, just as well as I think I may have got it wrong! Although the question was not difficult it was what I would call tricky.

Anyway, the winners of the booklets with faults are Ian and Daniel who both got the correct answer. The consolation prize was awarded to Jeroen!

The correct answer to the quiz is nine (9).

The run down to the answers can be found on here on Adrian's Blog. Congratulations to all, and thanks go to Adrian for running the competition.

Keep tuned in as it is quite possible we will run another prize Machin quiz in the near future.

From Ian Billings (many thanks) some news about the 2nd class Faststamp. It will be available at Stampex from day 1 (20th February ) but the roll-out to Post Office branches is not expected until the summer.

A new 1st class Machin Faststamp will be also available from 20th February with a Stampex-only 'overprint' marking the 60th anniversary of the coronation.

I have seen another new error to the 1st class Royal Mail Red, this time it is reported to have the right band inset (DGI2) from the perforations. Source code C,ex London Underground 6 x 1st class London Booklet

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO COLLECT OTHER GB ITEMS

Be sure to visit Ian's blog on a regular basis, he always has up to date invaluable news on everything connected to modern GB that is topical.
As a full time dealer I do not know how he finds the time, I do not like to think of him slogging his guts out to keep us informed, but keep up the good work Ian and thank you once again.
