What Ever Next, Machin Carpets?

Curling up on the rug with a fist full of stamps now has a new meaning for some people. No I am not joking these are Machins with what I will call "a mat finish."

This is not a new thing as I remember someone sent me an email linking to the rug site a couple of years ago. Douglas Myall also mentioned them in one of his Deegam Reports.

A company called "Rug Maker" has officially been granted a licence by Royal Mail to manufacture their exclusive Stamp Rug Collection which according to the website "fully captures the iconic design of Machin’s Royal Mail Stamps."

A Machin nut I may be, but for the life of me I can not imagine having a Machin Rug hanging on my wall or sitting in front of my fire. Plus the fact starting prices for the smallest rugs (47" x 39") would put me off straight away, they are a whopping £695.00.

There are however some interesting designs which I think as a Machin buff you may like to look at.

Roy,

It's only January 5 and you've already won the contest for best pun of the year.
