Last month I reported that a fourth plaster cast, purportedly by Arnold Machin, was being offered at auction by Cuttlestones.
Although there was some question about exactly how this cast originated, the lot description was not very helpful. It attributed the cast to Arnold Machin and described it as, "An original plaster cast depicting Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II, side profile. Provenance - given to the vendor's father by Arnold Machin." You can see the cast here.
The estimate was £1,500 - £2,500.
It didn't sell.
That should teach them not to hold a sale on Friday the 13th.
