The RM tariff guide for 2011 reveals that the new Machin values to be issued for the increase are 68p, 76p, £1.10 & £1.65. These will be issued in self-adhesive sheets of 25.
When stocks run down the 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p & 20p Machins will also be reissued in self-adhesive sheets of 25 but these will not have the iridescent Royal Mail overlay, unlike the tariff definitives mentioned above.

So, except for Prestige Booklets presumably this is the end for gummed Machin stamps altogether. So no more blocks of four etc. The regional issues - which are presumably still gummed - will be a poor substitute. However the public like self adhesive stamps, and that is the main thing I suppose.
The USPS switched to all self-stick several years ago. Now, it seems strange to me when I have some older stamps to use on mail and I actually have to wet them.

I don't collect SA Machins and never will. It seems that the story is over! Machins from Prestige Booklets will probably be SA too!
